Especially on smaller vessels, a composite boiler can be a compact solution for meeting steam needs and reducing environmental impact. A composite boiler has both a fired section and an exhaust gas section, allowing it to produce steam through fuel combustion and/or waste heat recovery. The Alfa Laval OC-TCi is a composite marine boiler with the additional option of an electric heating element for use with shore power.
